Yo me llamo Deysi Mendoza Santillana
Después de la muerte de mis padres, yo como hija mayor empecé a trabajar para educar a mis hermanos por ello dejé mis estudios
A mis hermanos hice terminar sus estudios. Ahora yo quiero concluir mis estudios y la Educación Básica Alternativa es una oportunidad
Como mujer quechua y campesina yo quiero educarme, así enseñar a mis hijos y apoyar a mi comunidad

Dejé mis estudios en 1980, por los problemas sociopolíticos. Trabajé mucho para salir adelante esto ha sido la causa para no continuar con mis estudios. Después de concluir la primaria no había la secundaria en mi pueblo
Ahora que tengo mi familia, deseo superarme por ellos, por eso asisto al CEBA de mi comunidad porque es una oportunidad para culminar mis estudios.

Deysi: “I started to work so my brothers could have an education”
Deysi Mendoza Santillana, Student of CEBA – Yanama.
My name is Deysi Mendoza Santillana.
After my parents died, as the older daughter I started to work so my brothers could have an education, and then I had to quit school.
I made my brothers finish their education. Now I want to complete mine, and the Alternative Basic Education is an opportunity!
As a quechua woman and a farmer I want to be educated, and then teach my children and community.

I quit school in 1980 due to sociopolitical problems. I worked hard to survive, and this was the reason why I quit school. After completing primary school there was no high school in my village.
Now that I have my family, they are the reason why I want to overcome all this. That is why I’m attending a Youth and Adult Education centre in my community, because it is an opportunity to complete my studies.
